Insurance Claims for Hail Damage and Other Storm Damage
Did your roof suffer hail damage, wind damage, or other storm damage? Chances are you will be inundated with roofers trying to sell their services to you. Be careful! This is the time of year where fly-by-night contractors come out of the woodwork. Don’t be in a panic to replace your roof. It could be a $5,000 roof but if the project goes wrong it could easily turn into a $25,000 nightmare.
Tips On Working With Your Insurance Company when you have sustained hail damage…
Rainy Day Roofing has been working with Insurance companies for over 10 years. We know what they need to process a hail damage claim most efficiently and properly.
Here are a few tips for you to follow when working with your Insurance Company:
1. Contact Rainy Day Roofing to schedule a free roof evaluation to determine if hail damage or storm damage occurred.
2. Once hail damage or other storm damage has been verified, contact your insurance agent.
3.Your agent can authorize any temporary roof repairs necessary to prevent further damage to your property.
4. Your insurance company will usually require receipts for any emergency roof repairs you have done in order to reimburse you correctly.
5. We recommend taking pictures of the hail damage, wind damage, or other storm damage prior to making any roof repairs.
6. Avoid making permanent roof repairs until the adjuster has had the opportunity to inspect the roof for hail damage or other storm damage.
7. You should be contacted by the insurance claims department.
8. An insurance adjuster will be assigned to inspect and evaluate the extent of hail damage, wind damage, or other storm damage to your roof and property.
9. Once the insurance adjuster completes his inspection, you will receive a claim sheet outlining the scope of hail damage, wind damage, or other storm damage and the funds being made available for the repairs, less your deductible.
